Becoming a foster parent is a major decision. Thank you for considering Giocosa as you begin this journey.

Giocosa seeks foster parents of all ethnicities, genders and background, single or married. Our primary requirement is a home that will provide a stable and loving environment where children can grow, that is committed to being the positive change a child needs. Giocosa receives foster child referrals from the Texas Department of Family & Protective Services, Texas Juvenile Justice Department, and Our Community-Our Kids. We also have Spanish-speaking programs in Laredo and Brownsville.

Respite

Being a foster parent can at times be overwhelming, and just like any parent, sometimes they need breaks. Respite providers provide much-needed relief and assistance to foster parents by caring for foster children for a few hours or a few days. Interested respite providers are required to complete several trainings and a background check to become eligible to provide respite care.

Kinship

Kinship foster care is when extended families take on the role as a child’s primary caregiver when the biological parents are unable to care for the child.
